The Fruit of Gentleness

[28] Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. [29] Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. [30] For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
1. Gentleness helps people grow

2 Samuel 22:36 You have given me the shield of your salvation, and your gentleness made me great.

2. Biblical masculinity has a characteristic of gentleness.
1 Thessalonians 2:7 But we were gentle among you, like a nursing mother taking care of her own children.

Who should we practice gentleness towards:

1. Our brothers and sisters in the church
(Ephesians 4:1-3 ESV) [1] I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, [2] with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, [3] eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

2. Those who have fallen in sin
(Galatians 6:1 ESV) [1] Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.

3. Enemies
(2 Timothy 2:24-25 ESV) [24] And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, [25] correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth,

4. The World
(1 Peter 3:15 ESV) [15] but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,
