1. Gentleness helps people grow
2 Samuel 22:36 You have given me the shield of your salvation, and your gentleness made me great.
2. Biblical masculinity has a characteristic of gentleness.
1 Thessalonians 2:7 But we were gentle among you, like a nursing mother taking care of her own children.
Who should we practice gentleness towards:
1. Our brothers and sisters in the church
(Ephesians 4:1-3 ESV)  I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called,  with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,  eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
2. Those who have fallen in sin
(Galatians 6:1 ESV)  Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.
(2 Timothy 2:24-25 ESV)  And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil,  correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth,
4. The World
(1 Peter 3:15 ESV)  but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,
